overview
arctis/design is a live site i built for work i make. it is public at design.arctis.sh. you browse a feed, open a piece on the same page, look through it, and close it.
it is heavily inspired by recent.design. i like how that site lets you look at work. i am not trying to copy it. they collect pieces from across the web. this feed only holds what i made.
what it is
the home feed mixes everything. browse splits the same work into design, websites, og images, and app icons. saved is local. it lives in the browser, not on an account.
open a piece and you stay on the page. on desktop the cover moves into a stage next to a panel. on mobile it comes up as a sheet. if a post has more than one frame, those sit in a row you can scroll. a shared link carries the post id, so the same piece can open again from the url.
how i built it
next.js renders the pages statically. react and typescript hold the items. tailwind is the type and layout. motion handles open and close. gsap handles the row inside a post.
each post is markdown plus media. there is no admin and no database. titles, dates, descriptions, and tool credits come from the file. the images come from the folder next to it.
outcome
the result is a live feed of my own work, with a public url, collections, and a way to open and share a single piece. i use it to put new work up and leave it there.
